Led by Art: The Story Behind Epitoma

Led by Art: The Story Behind Epitoma

03 Dec 2025 2025 Dec 03

In a world defined by excess and speed, Epitoma was conceived as a return to craftsmanship, contemplation, and the intimate poetry of design.

The name Epitoma originates from the Latin epitome, meaning the perfect example. For us, it symbolises both aspiration and discipline: the pursuit of excellence in form, fabric, and feeling.

Lingerie, to us, is the first form of art we wear. It is a layer of quiet confidence; unseen by most, but deeply felt by the one who wears it. Shaping the body and the way we inhabit it.

Ab Arte Ducta - Led by Art

Our guiding principle, Ab Arte Ducta (Led by Art) is our philosophy, our process, and our promise.

Each Epitoma collection begins with a creative dialogue between art and the body. We are guided by the chiaroscuro of painting, the geometry of sculpture, the rhythm of architecture, and the intimacy of photography. Every edition of Epitoma becomes a new expression and dialogue on a different artistic era, emotion, and aesthetic.

Edition I - The Art of Elegance, our debut collection, is inspired by the poise and sensuality of classical art - the mastery of Renaissance painting and sculpture. It draws from the softness of Botticelli’s muses, the strength of Artemisia Gentileschi’s brushwork, and the sculptural serenity of marble drapery. The result is a study in contrast: light and shadow, discipline and desire.

Future Editions will continue this artistic evolution. Each will explore a new visual language and medium: from the romantic fluidity of Impressionism, to the organic sensuality of Art Nouveau and the coquettish detail of Rococo. Like a gallery of collections, Epitoma will move through art history, translating its textures, tones, and tensions into wearable forms.

A Modern Collector’s Vision

At the heart of Epitoma lies the idea of collection and curation; each Edition is released as a numbered series, designed to be collected, cherished, and revisited like a body of work. Our pieces are not seasonal; they are timeless, designed to become part of the Epitoma woman’s own personal archive.
